Lady Bobcats Softball Close Strong With Major District Honors.

The postseason ended sooner than the Lady Bobcats hoped, and with it, a perfect district run came to a close. But if this season proved anything, it is that Lady Bobcats softball left its mark long before the final out.

After a dominant district campaign, the Lady Bobcats are now celebrating a long list of postseason honors that reflect just how special this group was, both on the field and in the classroom.

Leading the way is junior standout Mya Vasquez, named District MVP after putting together one of the best offensive seasons in the area. Vasquez finished with a .608 batting average, a .905 slugging percentage, 45 hits, 30 RBIs, and two home runs, leading the Lady Bobcats in hits and setting the tone all season long.

Right behind her was Madison Canada, who earned Offensive Player of the Year honors. Canada hit .438 with a remarkable 1.000 slugging percentage, collecting 28 hits, five home runs, and a team-leading 33 RBIs. When Benbrook needed big offense, she delivered it.

The Lady Bobcats also placed five players on the First Team All-District list: Kaylee Boswell, Maddy Davila, Jolie Hornbeck, Maelee Lindley, and Natalya Muzquiz.

Second Team All-District honors went to McKinzie Brookshier and Esperanza Garza, adding to a season filled with strong contributions across the roster.

And the success did not stop at the field. Benbrook also had seven players named Academic All-District: Kaylee Boswell, McKinzie Brookshier, Madison Canada, Maddy Davila, Maelee Lindley, Natalya Muzquiz, and Mya Vasquez.

Wins matter, but so does the kind of standard a team sets for student-athletes.

This Lady Bobcat group did both. They competed at a high level, chased a perfect district season, and walked away with hardware that reflects the work that went into it. Even with the early playoff exit, this season gave Benbrook plenty to remember.
