Benbrook City Council will meet Thursday, August 6, with a pre-council work session at 6:30 p.m. followed by the regular meeting at 7 p.m. at Benbrook City Hall, 911 Winscott Road.

Among the items scheduled for discussion is Tom Casey’s resignation from Place 4 on the Benbrook Economic Development Corporation Board.

Council will also receive several routine reports, including applications for boards and commissions, the city’s finance report for the period ending June 30, 2026, and the quarterly investment report.

One agenda item calls for discussion on releasing attorney-client privilege related to a legal opinion regarding platting and floodplain requirements for the Trinity Estates Phase III subdivision.

Residents will have two opportunities to address the council. Citizens may speak on agenda items before the meeting begins, and later during informal citizen comments for topics not listed on the agenda. Comments are limited to three minutes per speaker.

The meeting also includes an executive session to discuss a potential economic development incentive for MAD SR. BENBROOK RE, LLC (company behind Jakes and Tacos & Avocados). Any action resulting from that discussion will be taken after the council reconvenes in open session.

Residents who would like to review the complete agenda and supporting documents before the meeting can do so on the City of Benbrook’s website.
