The final whistle in the Area round may have ended the Lady Bobcats’ playoff run, but it did not define their season.
Benbrook closed the year at 21-4-1, went a perfect 14-0 in district play, and claimed both district and bi-district titles. It was a season built on consistency, depth, and a group that learned how to win together.
Now, the postseason awards are starting to reflect that.

Sydney Chavez was named District 7-4A Most Valuable Player after leading the way throughout the year. Grace Klaerner earned Co-Utility Player of the Year, filling key roles across the field. Lily Chavez was named Co-Midfield Player of the Year, helping control the pace and flow of matches. Zoe Clark rounded out the top honors as Newcomer of the Year.
Benbrook’s depth showed up across the rest of the district list as well.
First Team honors went to seniors Randee Slater, Jessica Anzaldua, Kira Cleveland, and Lily Carias, along with Lexie Garcia and Leah Jimenez.
Second Team selections included seniors Fiona Chan, Victoria Arriaga, and Samantha Gloria, joined by Katelyn Chaparro, Olivia Zapata, and Eleanor Vazquez.
Arianna Labue, Judith Jimenez, and Ava Rios received honorable mention recognition.
The awards highlight individual efforts, but they also point back to something bigger. This team went undefeated in district play and carried that momentum into the postseason.
Seasons like this tend to stick around, not just in the record book, but in the way a program moves forward. And we can’t wait to see and cheer on next year’s team.
