Lawsuit Filed Against Fort Worth ISD Over Principal Reassignment.

A leadership change at Western Hills High School has now moved into the courtroom.

According to a recent post by FWISD Watchdog, former principal appointee Shayma Alzubi has filed a lawsuit against Fort Worth ISD after the district reassigned her just days after announcing her as the new principal of Western Hills High School.

Alzubi, who has worked for Fort Worth ISD since 2013, was publicly announced as the candidate for the position on May 22. Four days later, the district reassigned her and stated it would investigate past social media posts referenced in the lawsuit.

According to the filing, those posts included support for Palestinians, Black Lives Matter, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients, and the district’s COVID-19 mask policy.

The lawsuit was filed Thursday by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) on Alzubi’s behalf.

Fort Worth ISD has not publicly resolved the matter, and the case now appears headed through the legal process. The lawsuit adds another chapter to an issue that has drawn significant attention from parents, educators, and community members across Fort Worth in recent weeks.

As the case moves forward, questions surrounding employment decisions, social media activity, and district leadership will likely remain closely watched by the public.

Residents interested in following the matter can monitor future court filings and official statements from both Fort Worth ISD and the parties involved.
