Big changes are ahead at Rolling Hills Elementary School as the campus prepares for the 2026–2027 school year.
After four years leading the school and 15 years serving Fort Worth ISD, Principal Kendall Condit is officially retiring from education.
In a letter shared with families and staff, Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Peter B. Licata thanked Condit for her leadership and commitment to building a supportive, student-centered campus culture focused on helping students succeed both academically and personally.
At the same time, district leaders announced Justin Barrett as the next principal of Rolling Hills Elementary.
Based on the little information available on LinkedIn and Licata’s letter, Dr. Barrett brings more than 15 years of educational experience to the role, having previously served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal.
While some express concerns, the district officials described him as a leader committed to strengthening school culture, supporting educators, and helping students prepare for college, careers, and life beyond the classroom.
Transitions like this can be emotional for school communities, especially at elementary campuses where principals often become familiar faces to generations of students and families. But district leaders say they are confident Rolling Hills is positioned well for its next chapter.
As one school year closes and another begins to take shape, Rolling Hills families now prepare to celebrate a longtime leader while welcoming a new one to campus.
