Local businesses, city leaders and neighbors came together Thursday evening for the Good to Be Benbrook Business Rally, turning HighRidge Church into a showcase of the people and businesses behind the community.
Hosted by the Benbrook Area Chamber of Commerce, the Aug. 27 event gave residents a chance to meet local business owners, sample food from around Benbrook, visit food trucks and take home a few giveaways along the way.
Benbrook Par 3 Golf Course was among the businesses taking part and thanked Chamber leaders Brian, Meredith, Tonya, and others who helped organize the rally.
Mayor Jason Ward, City Manager Jim Hinderaker, and several city employees also stopped by to support the event.
And there were some winners. Renee went home with a healthy-themed gift basket, while another lucky attendee was especially excited to win Chicken Express.
For some, the evening even stretched beyond the official 7:30 p.m. end time, with others helping clean up and return the church to the way they found it as good neighbor would and should.
It was a fitting end to an afternoon spent connecting with neighbors and supporting local Benbrook businesses.
