Editor’s Update: On May 26, Fort Worth ISD released a statement saying the district had become aware of past social media posts connected to Shayma Alzubi, a finalist for a principal position. According to FWISD, the candidate has been reassigned pending the outcome of an investigation into whether the posts align with district social media policy and staff expectations. As of May 27th, FWISD has not announced further details regarding leadership plans for Western Hills High School.
A new chapter is beginning at Western Hills High School as Ms. Shayma Alzubi has officially been named the school’s new principal.
Alzubi began her career in education in 2013 as a science teacher in Fort Worth Independent School District and is now entering her 14th year in education.
Most recently serving as an assistant principal, Alzubi helped lead collaborative learning efforts focused on teacher development and student growth. School leaders said her work supported educators earning Teacher Incentive Allotment, or TIA, designations while helping improve student performance across campus.
The announcement comes during a season of transition for Western Hills as the school prepares for a new academic year under fresh leadership.
For many students, parents, and staff, the hiring also signals a continued investment in growing both teachers and student success from within the district.
