A few days after a tough loss to Carter Riverside, the Benbrook Bobcats boys soccer team returned home Tuesday night looking for a response. They found it.
Facing Dunbar in a key district matchup, the Bobcats came out sharp and built a quick two-goal lead. Dunbar answered after a defensive lapse allowed the Wildcats to even the score at 2-2, shifting the momentum and testing Benbrookโs composure.
The second half told a different story.
The Bobcats controlled the pace, tightened up defensively, and added two more goals to secure a 4-2 victory. It was the kind of bounce-back effort that can steady a season.
With the win, Benbrook moves to 9-9 overall and 4-3 in district play, holding fourth place in the standings. The team returns to the pitch at home Friday night at 7:00 p.m. to face rival Diamond Hill Jarvis in another important district contest.
For Bobcat fans, it is another chance to show up, fill the stands, and support a team that proved this week it knows how to respond.
