For many residents, Castle Park holds more than playground equipment. It holds childhood memories.
As the park’s playground is being redesigned for future generations, the Benbrook Public Library is working with a local community member to preserve the stories tied to the space. Throughout March, the library invites residents to help create a Community Memory Book dedicated to Castle Park.
Visitors can stop by the library to submit photos, write down personal memories, or read stories already shared by others who spent time at the park. The goal is to capture the small moments that shaped childhood for many families, from afternoons on the playground to friendships formed along the way.
At the end of the month, the collected memories and photos will be digitized and added to the library’s website to be preserved and shared for years to come.
Residents interested in contributing can visit the Benbrook Public Library during March and add their story to the growing collection. More information about library programs and services is available at https://benbrooklibrary.org.
