Bobcats Hoops Power Past Carter Riverside Despite Injuries.

Depth and resilience carried the night for the Benbrook Bobcats boys basketball team as they rolled past Carter Riverside with authority and confidence.

Coming in at 18-11 overall and sitting near the top of district play, the Bobcats faced the Eagles short-handed. Key players Jayden Bradshaw, Cael Denson, and Austin Cross remain sidelined with injuries, forcing a reshuffled lineup and heavy minutes for varsity newcomers. It did not slow Benbrook down.

From the opening tip, Brennan Barton and Jayden Hall set the tone. Their steady play on both ends helped the Bobcats race out to a 28-6 lead after the first quarter.

With help from freshman reserve Grant Warren, Benbrook stretched the margin to 44-13 by halftime, keeping Carter Riverside off balance throughout.

With the outcome well in hand, Barton and Hall wrapped up efficient nights early, finishing with 14 and 16 points. That opened the door for the reserves to shine. Hudson Stockton, Owen Atkins, Jaxyn Donart, and others continued the pressure, pushing the lead to 52-16 after three.

Warren provided the highlight moments, scoring 14 points and throwing down two emphatic dunks that brought the crowd to its feet. Still early in his varsity journey, Warren continues to show promise both as a player and as a student athlete.

Nonetheless, when time expired, the 70–22 victory marked Benbrook’s seventh straight win over Carter Riverside and lifted the Bobcats to 19–11 overall and 7–2 in district play, now sitting in second place.

Next up is a highly anticipated rematch with the Dunbar Wildcats, who handed Benbrook a loss earlier this season at Billingsley Field House. The Bobcats will get their chance to respond Tuesday night at 6:00 pm.

Bobcat Nation, this is one worth showing up for.
