BENBROOK, TX – Love may have been in the air on Valentine’s night, but no love was lost on the field as the Lady Bobcats delivered a commanding 7-0 shutout over Carter-Riverside in district play.
This dominant victory marks the Lady Bobcats’ sixth straight win, pushing their record to 10-3-1 overall and a flawless 6-0 in district, keeping them securely in first place. Their offense was firing on all cylinders with Sydney Chavez leading the charge with a hat trick, while Lily Chavez added two goals of her own. Elizabeth Klaerner and Lexie Garcia each found the back of the net to round out the scoring.
Defensively, the Lady Bobcats continue to lock opponents down, conceding just two goals over their last six matches. They’ll look to keep the momentum going in a high-energy showdown against the Dunbar Lady Wildcats on Monday at 4:00 p.m.—weather permitting.
Meanwhile, the Bobcats boys’ squad got their own sweet taste of victory, avenging a January loss to Carter-Riverside with a hard-fought 3-2 win. The victory extends their streak to three straight and lifts them to 5-8 on the season and 3-3 in district play, placing them fourth in the standings.
The Bobcats will also square off against Dunbar on Monday at 4:00 p.m., hoping to keep their winning ways alive.
