The Benbrook Lady Bobcats started the new year with a strong showing at the Richland Royals Winter Tournament, showcasing their resilience and determination on the soccer field.
In their opening match, the Lady Bobcats dominated the Haltom Lady Buffaloes with a decisive 5-1 victory. Sydney Chavez led the charge, contributing two goals and three assists, while Lily Chavez, Lexie Garcia, and Grace Klarner each added a goal. Klarner and Jess Anzaldula also chipped in with an assist piece, rounding out a stellar team performance.
In their second game, the Lady Bobcats faced tougher competition from the host team, the Richland Lady Royals. Despite impressive saves by Avery Bates and Arianna Labue, the Lady Bobcats couldnโt find their offensive rhythm and fell 3-0.
Refusing to let the setback define their tournament, the Lady Bobcats regrouped for an exciting third match against the South Hills Lady Scorpions. The game ended in a hard-fought 1-1 tie, capping the tournament with a record of one win, one loss, and one tie.
This week, should the weather cooperate, the Lady Bobcats are back in action with a packed schedule:
