Just 23 votes separated the candidates in one of Benbrook’s closest City Council races Tuesday night, as Greg Clem narrowly edged Dustin Phillips for Place 4 in the November 3 election.
According to election results shared in the Benbrook Soapbox community group, Clem received 3,813 votes (50.15%), compared with Phillips’ 3,790 votes (49.85%), out of 7,603 votes cast in the race.
The Place 6 contest saw Whitney Hughes finish ahead of Laura Mackey by a wider margin. Hughes received 4,156 votes (54.44%), while Mackey collected 3,478 votes (45.56%), a difference of 678 votes.
The results show two very different races, with Place 4 decided by less than one percentage point and Place 6 by nearly nine points.
The figures were shared following Tuesday’s election and should be considered unofficial until the results are formally canvassed and certified.
