Before the turkey hits the table, runners and walkers will hit the streets Thanksgiving morning for Ventana’s 7th Annual Turkey Trot.
The neighborhood tradition returns Thursday, Nov. 26, at the Ventana Amenity Center, 10327 Trail Ridge in Fort Worth. Race-day packet pickup begins at 8 a.m., followed by the 1-mile Fun Run/Walk at 8:45 a.m. and the 5K Run/Walk at 9 a.m.
The morning is about more than getting a few miles in before Thanksgiving dinner. Proceeds will benefit One Tribe Foundation, formerly 22KILL, a nonprofit that works to combat suicide and support veterans, law enforcement officers, first responders, and their families through community, resources, and traditional and non-traditional therapies.
Participants who register by Nov. 16 are guaranteed their requested shirt size. Sizes will not be guaranteed for registrations after that date.
Whether you run the 5K, walk the mile, or bring the family along, it is a Thanksgiving morning tradition that puts those miles toward a larger purpose.
