Fort Worth Prepares for Winter Weather, Urges Safety.

FORT WORTH, Texas — As winter weather approaches, the National Weather Service has issued warnings for up to six inches of snow in areas north of I-20.

Fort Worth is partnering with local nonprofits to provide shelter, including Presbyterian Night Shelter and Union Gospel Mission for individuals, and Salvation Army for families. Additional beds and transportation are available if needed.

City crews began pretreating roads, focusing on bridges and major roads. Residents are urged to insulate pipes and take precautions to prevent damage.

Fort Worth ISD resumes classes on Tuesday, and any changes will be communicated via phone, text, and email. Some sports events have been rescheduled or canceled.
