The wintry mix of sleet and snow has made Benbrook’s roads into a slippery challenge, and residents are urged to stay home unless absolutely necessary.
Local Facebook chatter (Benbrook Community Group) paints a frosty picture: Tarrant County is slick with sleet, while Parker County boasts massive snowflakes.
Reports from intrepid drivers suggest mixed results:
- 18-wheelers are barreling down the roads, adding an extra layer of unpredictability.
- 4WD trucks seem to manage okay, but conditions are dicey for rear-wheel and front-wheel drive vehicles.
Unfortunately, there’s no shortage of vehicles in ditches or against guardrails, particularly on Loop 820 and I-20. On the bright side, snow plows are out treating the roads—yes, Texas has snow plows, even here in Benbrook!
As temperatures continue to drop overnight, the slick conditions are expected to worsen. Benbrook residents are advised to stay warm, dry, and off the roads whenever possible.
Stay safe, and check back here for more updates on road conditions.
