There were contracts to sign, jackets to order and plenty of reasons to celebrate as Foot Works Performing Arts Center brought its dance families together over the weekend.
The Works Company marked National Dance Day with its annual Company Tailgate, officially kicking off the studio’s 19th season. Dancers celebrated their new teams, received family adoption certificates and spent time together away from rehearsals and the stage.
The afternoon also included team booths, food and treats, but the bigger part of the tradition was simply giving dancers and families time to get to know the people they will share the coming season with.
For Foot Works Performing Arts Center, the tailgate means Season 19 is no longer around the corner. It has officially begun.
