A fresh round of wet weather is closing in on North and Central Texas, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Flood Watch through early Friday morning. For Benbrook residents, it is one of those weeks when the sky refuses to take a break, and the risk of fast-rising water becomes a real concern.
Forecasters expect multiple waves of heavy rain to move across the region through Thursday night. Most areas are likely to pick up one to two inches of rain, but pockets of the metroplex could see totals closer to four inches. With the ground already saturated in many spots, even a short downpour can quickly overwhelm low crossings and drainage channels.
If youโre out and about, the message from forecasters is simple. Do not drive through high water and avoid barricaded roads. Flooded streets can be deeper and stronger than they look. Use extra caution in areas that typically hold water during storms.

Stay aware, stay safe, and keep an eye on those low-lying routes as the rain moves in.
