A few spots are still available for a summer basketball camp that promises more than just time on the court.
The Benbrook Community Center YMCA will host its Basketball Camp July 6-8, giving young athletes ages 7-12 an opportunity to learn from two well-known names in local basketball. Former TCU women’s basketball player Terri Janak and Southwest Christian School head basketball coach Fred Jones will help lead the camp’s instruction.
Held from 9 a.m. to noon each day, the camp is designed to help players strengthen fundamentals, improve passing, dribbling, and shooting skills, and build confidence through hands-on coaching and team activities.
Beyond basketball, organizers say the camp offers kids a chance to make new friends, stay active, and grow in a positive environment, whether they’re just getting started or looking to sharpen their game.
The camp will be held at the Benbrook Community Center YMCA, 1899 Winscott Road. Registration remains open, but available spots are limited.
