As firefighters battle the massive Ross Fire in Palo Pinto County, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is asking North Texas residents to help keep crews hydrated.
Firefighters have been working in temperatures topping 100 degrees as the wildfire has burned more than 50,000 acres.
After Sgt. Wilson with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office Labor Detail delivered a pallet of water to the Graford Volunteer Fire Department, crews expressed appreciation but said they need more supplies.
The Sheriff’s Office is now collecting bottled water and electrolyte drinks, including Gatorade and Powerade, from 6:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Aug. 26, at the Tarrant County Labor Detail, 1813 Cold Springs Road in Fort Worth.
The department said it will deliver donated drinks directly to firefighters working on the front lines.
