When emergency calls come in, city lines often take a back seat to teamwork.
The Benbrook Fire Department recently joined several neighboring agencies in responding to a residential fire on Longfield Drive in White Settlement, providing mutual aid support as crews worked to contain the blaze.
According to officials, the evening response on May 20 brought together firefighters from the White Settlement Fire Department, the Lockheed Fire Department, the NAS Fort Worth JRB Fire Department, the Benbrook Fire Department, the Lake Worth Fire Department, and Fort Worth EMS.
Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the residence. Firefighters quickly coordinated efforts to attack the fire, protect surrounding property, and ensure the safety of those involved.
Mutual aid agreements allow departments across the region to assist one another during significant incidents, ensuring communities have access to additional personnel and equipment when needed most.
The Benbrook Fire Department expressed gratitude for the opportunity to support its neighboring agencies, highlighting the strong partnerships that exist among first responders throughout western Tarrant County.
While residents often see fire departments serving their own communities, incidents like this remind that emergency responders routinely work together across city boundaries, united by a common goal of protecting lives and property.
