San Antonio was filled with music this week, and Benbrook had a strong presence in the room.
At the 2026 Texas Music Educators Association convention, Blake Glass represented Western Hills High School and the Benbrook community as a section leader for the All-State Choir. Asked to serve as bass section leader, Glass helped guide a group of talented young singers at one of the state’s most respected music events.
The experience went beyond the stage. Students from the program earned spots in the All-State Choir and performed under the direction of renowned clinician Marcela Molina. For many, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sing at that level and share the stage with some of the best high school vocalists in Texas.
For Benbrook families, it was another reminder that excellence in the arts is alive and well in our schools. From long rehearsals to a final concert that left a lasting impression, the week in San Antonio marked a proud chapter for these students and their director.
Moments like this reflect the dedication of teachers, the commitment of students, and the support of a community that believes the arts matter.
