A decision that could shape parks and athletic spaces across Fort Worth is heading to voters this spring.
On Saturday, May 2, residents will weigh in on the City’s 2026 Bond Program, with Proposition B focused on parks, recreation, and open space improvements. The measure includes funding for infrastructure upgrades and athletic fields, areas that continue to draw attention as the city grows.
For families and athletes, the proposal centers on practical changes. Plans include improving drainage, turf, lighting, and safety, as well as enhancing practice and game-day facilities. The goal is to keep fields playable, reduce weather-related disruptions, and support long-term use for leagues and community events.
Voting options are already underway. Early voting runs from April 20 through April 28, while Election Day polling hours are set for 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Registered Tarrant County voters can cast a ballot at any Vote Center location. Residents can find locations and wait times through Tarrant County Elections or VoteTexas.gov.
City officials note the bond program is structured to be repaid within the existing property tax rate, without increasing it.
For Benbrook-area residents who use Fort Worth parks and fields, the encouragement to vote of Fort Worth residents offers a chance to weigh in on how those spaces grow and improve in the years ahead.
