BENBROOK, TX — The wins keep coming for Benbrook, and so does the momentum.
Fresh off securing a seventh straight district title, the Bobcats picked up right where they left off Friday night, rolling past Carter-Riverside Eagles with an early surge that never let up.
After holding the Eagles scoreless in the first, the Bobcats’ offense took over in a hurry. Ethan Tucker delivered the moment of the night with a grand slam to right field, sparking a nine-run inning that put the game out of reach almost as soon as it started.
From there, the Bobcats stayed in control. They added two more runs in the second and backed it up with a clean, disciplined performance across the board.
On the mound, Trenton Hornbeck set the tone. He went five innings without allowing a hit or a run, striking out five and working through traffic when needed.
Behind him, the defense stayed sharp with no errors, while the offense kept pressure on with six stolen bases, including three from Evan Smith.
Tucker finished with four RBIs and was just as active in the field, leading the team in defensive plays.
With a 19-8-1 record, the Bobcats now turns its focus to a road matchup against the Celina Bobcats later today as the regular season winds down and the postseason comes into view.
Right now, the Bobcats are winning and playing the kind of baseball that carries into May.
