Western Hills Cougars Hoops Look to Break Losing Streak in Next Matchup.

The Western Hills Cougars head into today’s 1 p.m. home game against the Trimble Tech Bulldogs.

The Cougars are looking to reset their season and shake off a five-game losing streak carried over from last year. Despite the rough start, the team showed flashes of progress in Friday’s matchup against the Young Men’s Leadership Academy.

The Cougars opened that game strong, taking a 16–11 lead after the first quarter. But momentum shifted as the game went on, and YMLA pulled away for a 55–41 win. The loss dropped Western Hills to 0–3, but the early spark offered a glimpse of what the team is capable of when they are locked in.

Today’s game brings some hopeful history with it. The last time Western Hills faced Trimble Tech, back in December 2024, the Cougars dominated with a 63–25 victory. Whether that past success translates into a much-needed rebound today is what fans will be watching closely.

Supporters are encouraged to pack the stands at the Cougar Den this afternoon as the Cougars chase their first win of the season.
