The Western Hills Lady Cougars soccer team has had a rough start to the season, and 2025 brought little relief after a tough opener.
Before the Christmas break, the Lady Cougars lost 6-4 to the Polytechnic Lady Parrots in their high-scoring season debut. Unfortunately, the new year has been equally challenging, as they have dropped three straight games in tournament play.
The Springtown Lady Porcupines shut them out 7-0, while the Pilot Point Lady Bearcats edged a tight 1-0 win the same day. The tournament wrapped up with a 4-1 loss to the Bridgeport Lady Bulls, leaving the Lady Cougars winless at 0-4.
Looking to regroup, the Lady Cougars were set to face the Collegiate Academy at TCC Northeast Phoenix, hoping to snap their four-game losing streak. The teams last met in January 2024, and the Phoenix won decisively 3-0. However, this weekโs match was canceled due to a winter weather advisory issued by Fort Worth ISD.
Will the Lady Cougars break their skid or extend their losing streak?
