Benbrook Bobcats Swoosh Back with Dominant Win.

The Benbrook Bobcats basketball team didn’t let their narrow two-point loss to the Southwest Raiders dampen their spirits.

Instead, they rebounded in spectacular fashion, rolling over the Western Hills Cougars with a decisive 55-33 victory last night. Brennan Barton, who went 10 of 23 en route to 28 points, turned in a dominant performance, giving him a new career-high in points and earning him the Player of the Game award.

This marks the Bobcats’ second win against the Cougars this season, building on their 67-50 triumph back in December 2024. The victory is part of an impressive stretch for Benbrook, which has now won four of its last five games. The streak has bolstered their season record to 15-12 and their district standing to 5-2.

The Bobcats’ offense has been firing on all cylinders during this run, averaging 59.2 points per game. Meanwhile, the Cougars continue to face challenges, losing 14 of their last 18 games, leaving them with a 6-18 record.

Looking ahead, the Bobcats will face the Eastern Hills Highlanders on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Hills is a formidable opponent, having scored at least 55 points in each of their last eight games.

The Cougars, on the other hand, will host the Carter-Riverside Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The timing might work in their favor as the Eagles are struggling with a ten-game losing streak.
