Lady Cougars Soccer Stay Hot in District Play.

Western Hills girls’ soccer is finding its rhythm at the right time.

Riding a three-game winning streak, the Lady Cougars headed back into district play Tuesday night with a road matchup against Southwest.

The memory of last year’s loss to the Lady Raiders was still fresh, and Western Hills knew it would take a complete effort to leave with a different result.

The Cougars entered the night 4-13 overall after navigating a demanding non-district schedule, but their 4-2 mark in district showed a team settling in.

Southwest kept pace through much of the first half, and the match had the feel of another tight battle. Western Hills answered with a goal to even things at 2-2 before halftime, shifting the tone of the night.

In the second half, the Cougars took control. The defense shut out the Raiders, and the offense found space and confidence, adding two more goals to secure a 4-2 win.

The victory pushes Western Hills to 5-13 overall and 5-2 in district, where they remain fourth in the standings.

With momentum building, the Lady Cougars now turn their attention to a road match against Young Women’s Leadership Academy, looking to extend their district streak to five straight.
