RIO VISTA, TX – The Benbrook Lady Bobcats hit the road for the Rio Vista Tournament, battling through a doubleheader on Friday with mixed results.
The day started with a hard-fought 8-6 loss to Hubbard, marking back-to-back defeats for Benbrook. Despite the setback, Mya Vasquez shined at the plate, going 1-for-1 with a triple and a run scored. The Lady Bobcats kept the pressure on offensively, finishing with a .562 on-base percentage—their highest since early last season.
But they didn’t stay down for long.
In their second game, Benbrook bounced back in a big way, taking down Dawson 4-1 in a statement win. Sealee Lindley and Mya Vasquez led the charge, both going 2-for-2 with two runs scored, with Lindley notching her highest-scoring game since April 2024.
With the win, the Lady Bobcats improved to 3-5 on the season and 1-1 in tourney play. Now, the question is: can they string together a winning streak?
Up next, Benbrook faces Rice at 9:00 a.m. and Keene at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday (game times subject to change). Stay locked in for updates at FWBenbrookBobcats.com.
