When Benbrook and Diamond Hill Jarvis opened district play earlier this season, the Lady Bobcats set the tone with a 9-0 shutout at home. Friday night, on the road, they left no doubt.
Benbrook powered past the Lady Eagles 12-0 to remain undefeated in district competition. The attack came in waves and from multiple players.
Lily Chavez and Samantha Gloria each found the net three times to lead the scoring. Randee Slater added two goals and an assist, while Zoe Clark contributed a goal and two assists. Grace Klaerner, Sydney Chavez, and Leah Jimenez each recorded a goal and an assist. Lexie Garcia chipped in two assists, and Olivia Zapata added another.
Samantha Gloria was named Benbrook player of the match for her performance.
The win pushes the Lady Bobcats to 13-3-1 overall and a perfect 8-0 in district, where they hold sole possession of first place.
Next up is a home matchup Tuesday against Southwest, a team the Lady Bobcats defeated 8-0 in their first district meeting. With the offense clicking and district play tightening, the Lady Bobcats continue to look like the team to beat.
