The Benbrook Lady Bobcats entered last week’s tournament riding a confident 3–1 start, hoping to build momentum heading into the holiday break.
Instead, the team ran into two powerhouse programs that handed them back-to-back losses and a reminder of how challenging tournament play can be.
Their opening matchup against the Legacy Leopards of Wichita Falls proved problematic from the start, ending in a 54–15 loss. The struggles continued on Friday when the Clarendon Lady Broncos brought heavy offensive pressure, defeating Benbrook 66–23.
Both Legacy and Clarendon showcased substantial scoring depth and tempo, creating challenges for a Lady Bobcats team still working to settle into a consistent rhythm. Despite the setbacks, coaches and fans remain confident that this young group will improve as they gain more court time together.
The losses brought Benbrook’s record to 3–3, giving the team a chance to reset during Thanksgiving break before returning to action. The Lady Bobcats resume play on December 2 with a 6:15 p.m. tip-off against Boyd.
Benbrook supporters will be looking for a strong bounce-back as the season continues.
