Is a Major Retailer Headed to Cresson? New Development Plan Fuels Speculation.

Growth isn’t stopping at Benbrook’s city limits.

Just south of town, Cresson is preparing for another major wave of commercial development.

According to a recent Hood & Parker County Economic Development Forum post by Carl L. Atkinson, Cresson One South is a planned commercial and land subdivision along East U.S. Highway 377 that will become part of a future master-planned community.

The project is expected to feature a mix of retail and commercial development, with a national commercial real estate firm already selected to market the retail portion.

One detail on the recently shared site plan has caught plenty of attention. A single parcel is reserved for a 148,000-square-foot big box retailer with an adjacent fueling station, prompting speculation about which national retailer could eventually occupy the site.

No tenant has been officially announced, and the site plan does not identify the future retailer. Still, the size of the building and the inclusion of fuel pumps have many wondering what could be coming to the rapidly growing Highway 377 corridor.

As development continues across southern Parker County, projects like Cresson One South highlight the continued growth reshaping communities just beyond Benbrook.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available.
