Westpark Elementary students have a new way to spend recess, thanks to a group of volunteers willing to give up a hot Friday afternoon to make it happen.
Members of the Wildcat Guard recently assembled and installed new tetherball poles on campus, pouring concrete, setting the poles and returning after everything dried to finish the job.
The Westpark Wildcats PTA thanked Josef Niccum, Nick Melton, Nate Clements, Mason Wrobel, Alex Kenobi and Jason Millikan for donating their time and doing the heavy lifting.
But no new playground addition is complete without a proper test run.
Elliott and Melissa Millikan played the first official tetherball game, with Elliott earning the inaugural win.
It was a relatively small project with a simple purpose: giving Westpark students another place to play, laugh and enjoy time together.
Thanks to the Wildcat Guard, the tetherball courts are officially ready for the Wildcats.
