Benbrook baseball fans have another reason to be excited.
Class of 2027 standout Tanner Madara spent part of his summer competing with the Arlington A’s Braves in the 2026 AABC Don Mattingly World Series, one of the nation’s premier 17U travel baseball tournaments held July 7 through 12 across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The Braves finished 2-2 during the event, earning wins over Stix 2027 Premier, 9-4, and Hawaii Elite 2G 2027, 13-4. They also battled South Texas Sliders 17U Mayer and Midland Southwest Scout 2027, falling 12-6 and 6-4, respectively.
Madara also drew attention during the tournament with a hard-hit opposite-field single, continuing to show why he’s one of Benbrook’s rising baseball talents.
Still uncommitted, Madara heads into the 2026-27 high school season as one of the players to watch as the Bobcats look to reload and continue the winning tradition that has become synonymous with Benbrook baseball.
Congratulations to Tanner on a strong summer, and best of luck to him and the Bobcats as they prepare for the 2026-27 season.
