On a recent Saturday, the usual crew at Western Hills High School’s Cougar Pride Alliance got a well-earned break.
In their place, volunteers from Moms and Sons of the Young Men’s Service League stepped in and prepared 260 sandwiches and meal bags for distribution. The effort kept the program moving without missing a beat and gave students and families in need continued support.
Organizers say the day was productive and meaningful for everyone involved. The volunteers not only helped meet a practical need, but they also strengthened the connection between campus groups and the wider community.
Acts like this rarely make headlines, but they shape a school’s culture. A few hours of service, a few hundred meals prepared, and a reminder that in Benbrook, people show up when it matters.
