Tuesday night in Benbrook had a little bit of everything. A packed town hall at Rolling Hills Elementary drew residents from across Benbrook and surrounding areas to discuss the impact of a new data center project near I-20 and 2871.
At the same time, local teams were spread across North Texas, competing in games that carried real weight.
While the Lady Bobcats soccer team battled in Stephenville for a chance to keep their playoff run alive and Bobcats baseball took the field at Western Hills, the spotlight back home settled on Dutch Branch Park.
There, the Benbrook Lady Bobcats softball team faced a strong Diamond Hill-Jarvis squad that came in with one of the best records around. Benbrook, already unbeaten in district play, had a chance to prove that standing.
The game started with pressure. The Eagles pushed across the first run, but that moment did not last long. Pitcher Madison Canada quickly found her rhythm and took control, settling into a steady pace that defined the rest of the night.

Benbrook answered right away. Maelee Lindley delivered early, helping tie the game, and the lineup followed with timely hitting and disciplined at-bats. By the fifth inning, the Lady Bobcats created enough separation to take full command.

Lindley and Mya Vasquez led the charge at the plate, each collecting two hits, while the defense backed it up with a key double play. In the circle, Canada carried the load from start to finish, striking out 12 and allowing just one run across seven innings.
The result was a 5-1 win that felt steady, composed, and earned.
With the victory, the Lady Bobcats move to 13-11 overall and remain perfect in district play at 7-0, holding firm in first place. They return to action Friday on the road against Southwest, with momentum clearly on their side.
