Drivers traveling through west Benbrook should use extra caution this afternoon.

As of 12 p.m., motorists reported that the traffic signals at the RM 2871 and Interstate 20 intersection are not functioning. Drivers in the area have been treating the intersection as a four-way stop while waiting for the issue to be resolved.

The signal outage comes just hours after a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle at RM 2871 and Stoneleigh Drive. Traffic volumes remain lighter than usual, but motorists are urged to slow down, yield when appropriate, and extend extra courtesy to others navigating the intersection.

If possible, consider alternate routes until normal traffic signal operations are restored.
