BENBROOK, TX — It started as a slow, heat-soaked afternoon and ended in a statement win.
The Benbrook Lady Bobcats closed out spring break Friday with a 6-0 victory over the Eagle Mountain Lady Knights at Tim Buchanan Stadium, claiming the Bi-District title and moving on in the playoffs.

Early on, both teams looked measured, feeling each other out as they battled rising temperatures and a turf field that only added to the grind. With water breaks built in, the game settled into a rhythm, and Benbrook began to find its edge.

The first breakthrough came just before halftime when senior Sydney Chavez delivered a sharp, low shot that slipped past the keeper to give the Lady Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
From there, the tone shifted.
The Lady Bobcats came out of the break with energy and purpose. Grace Klaerner sparked the surge, turning a strong restart into a goal that stretched the lead. Midway through the second half, the Chavez sisters added two more, pushing the score to 4-0 and putting the match firmly in hand.
Then it became Klaerner’s moment.

She battled through defenders to add another goal and later capped the day with her third, securing a hat trick and sealing the 6-0 finish.
Sydney Chavez finished with two goals, Lily Chavez added one, and the offense moved with precision behind assists from Lexie Garcia, Lily Carias, and Randee Slater.
With the win, the Lady Bobcats improve to 21-3-1 and now turn their attention to the Area round. The Lady Bobcats will face Brownwood Lady Lions on Tuesday, March 24, at 7 p.m. at Stephenville’s stadium.
The Lady Lions enter at 17-3-1 after a close playoff win of its own, setting up a matchup that should test both sides.
For now, the Lady Bobcats carry momentum, confidence, and a community ready to follow the next step in a postseason run that is starting to feel special.
