The Benbrook Bobcats made a statement at the District Wrestling Tournament last Friday at Azle High School.
Despite battling the flu in the weeks leading up to competition, the team showed incredible resilience, delivering a standout performance at districts. With four district champions and 16 wrestlers qualifying for regionals, they finished strong!
Out of 21 cleared athletes, 16 punched their ticket to regionals. The girls’ team secured fourth place, while the boys took second, finishing just behind state dual champion Azle.
๐ District Champions: Nataliegh Zapata, Nancy Trejo, Landry Wilkinson, and Desmond Chambers
๐ฅ Runner-ups: Brileigh Satterwhite, Gavin Henderson, Dominic Nunez, and Jacob Carpenter
๐๏ธ Landry Wilkinson was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament, while Kas Stevens made history as the first girl in school history to reach 100 career wins!
Shoutout to Coach Cribbs, Coach Carrillo, Coach Foshee, and Coach Borjas for leading the charge and guiding the team to success.
