Benbrook residents will soon have the opportunity to weigh in on the city’s proposed property tax rate. The City Council has scheduled a public hearing for September 4, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Benbrook City Hall, located at 911 Winscott Road.
The proposal keeps the current rate of $0.555 per $100 valuation, which is slightly above the no-new-revenue rate of $0.550695. This means the city would collect more in property taxes than it did last year, although the rate itself remains unchanged. The voter-approval rate is $0.609754, so no election is required.
For the average Benbrook homeowner, the change means about a $4 increase from last year, with the average property tax bill rising from $1,654 to $1,658. The citywide levy is projected to grow by about $295,000.
Residents can share their views by attending the hearing or contacting City Council members. For more information and resources on calculating your property taxes, visit benbrook-tx.gov.
