Benbrook Planning and Zoning to Review New Residential Plat May 14.

A quiet piece of land in Benbrook could soon take a step toward becoming a new residential development.

The Benbrook Planning and Zoning Commission is set to meet Thursday, May 14, at City Hall, 911 Winscott Road, where commissioners will review a preliminary plat proposal tied to roughly 16 acres near the intersection of Hawkins Home Boulevard and Benbrook Boulevard.

The plan calls for the creation of up to 10 single-family residential lots within an area currently zoned as a one-family planned development district. The item will be discussed during a public hearing, giving residents an opportunity to hear details and follow the process as it moves forward.

The meeting begins with a pre-commission work session at 7:00 p.m. in the Executive Conference Room, followed by the regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Commissioners are also scheduled to review and approve minutes from the April 9 meeting and hear standard staff reports.

While the agenda is brief, the decision carries weight for the surrounding area, as even small developments can shape a neighborhood’s look and feel over time.

For residents interested in how Benbrook continues to grow, this meeting offers a front-row seat to the early stages of that process.
