The Benbrook Fire Department recently gathered for its annual banquet, a night set aside to recognize the people behind the uniforms and celebrate the department’s work throughout 2025.

Hosted by Benbrook IAFF Local 5020, the evening highlighted several firefighters and officers whose service stood out over the past year.
Two members, Firefighters Belanger and Alvey, received the department’s Life Saving Award.
Firefighter Reeves was named Rookie of the Year, while Firefighter Justice earned Firefighter of the Year honors.
Chief Tate was recognized as Officer of the Year, and Firefighter Alvey was also named EMS Provider of the Year.
The night also marked Lieutenant Almon’s promotion and celebrated several firefighters who successfully completed their probationary year, including Firefighters Alvey, Hauss, Miller, Reeves, and Gutierrez.
Milestones in service were recognized as well. Firefighter Borchardt reached 10 years with the department; Firefighter Harold marked 20 years; and both Captain Haber and Chief Tate were honored for 25 years of service.
The banquet also included a personal moment for the department as families celebrated the arrival of new additions to the fire department community, including Sawyer Woods, Beckett Bridges, and Murphie Belanger.
To commemorate the year, every department member received a custom Benbrook Fire Department belt buckle.
The event was made possible by support from Audi Fort Worth, which hosted the gathering, and photography by KB Photography.
