A serious crash on FM 1187 near Ben Day Murrin Road led to a large emergency response Tuesday afternoon and is now being investigated as a fatality accident.
Just before 1 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to reports of a vehicle that had left the roadway and caught fire. Tarrant County ESD 1 Engine 570 responded to the scene, along with Benbrook EMS, Crowley Battalion 54, Engine 54, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, and other assisting agencies.
As the incident unfolded, Fort Worth Fire Department’s Squad 2 Heavy Rescue team was requested to assist. CareFlite was initially placed on standby but was later canceled.
Authorities have confirmed the crash is being investigated as a fatality accident. The identity of those involved and the circumstances leading up to the crash have not yet been released.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes as emergency personnel continue their work and investigators examine the scene.
