For the Cougars, the victory brought their overall record to 8-19 and their district record to 4-6, placing them fifth. It also wrapped up their final road game of the season on a positive note, sending them back home with confidence for the stretch run.
That confidence will be tested quickly. Up next is a home matchup with the Southwest Raiders, the district leaders at 22-7 overall and unbeaten in district play. The Raiders are riding a 12-game win streak and defeated Western Hills decisively in their earlier meeting.
Tuesday night at 7:30 pm offers a new chapter. The Cougars will be back on their home floor with a chance to measure themselves against the top team in the district.
