The Benbrook Cheer team stepped onto one of the biggest stages in Texas high school spirit competition earlier this month, competing at the UIL Spirit State Championships held January 15–17 at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
On Friday, January 16, Benbrook performed in the preliminary round for Class 4A Division II, backed by a strong showing of family, friends, and Bobcat pride in the stands.
The team delivered solid performances across all three required routines, earning 37.250 in Band Chant, 59.150 in Fight Song, and 70.650 in Crowd Leading. Their combined score of 166.85 placed Benbrook 51st out of 62 teams statewide in a highly competitive division.
For a program competing among the best in Texas, the weekend marked an important milestone and a moment worth celebrating. The experience, exposure, and state-level competition continue to build the foundation for what lies ahead for Benbrook Cheer.
Fans who want to relive the performance can stream the preliminary round on NFHS Network at https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/uil/gam9327500b18. A paid subscription is required, and Benbrook’s performance begins at approximately the 7-hour and 18-minute mark.
