Early Friday morning, Fort Worth firefighters freed a horse trapped in a cattle guard on Alta Vista Road.
With assistance from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, the horse was sedated for safety while crews from Rescue 38 spent 45 minutes widening the guard to release its three trapped legs.
After being lifted with a skid steer, the horse stood on its own and was safely loaded onto a trailer. Officials reported no major injuries, and the horse was transported to a nearby vet for evaluation and treatment.
