A few nights ago, my family and I were making our usual drive home when something extraordinary caught our attention.
As we rolled down Jerry Dunn Parkway toward Ventana, we noticed a brilliant glow on the horizon, illuminating the night sky.
My first thought was, “Is someone’s house on fire? I hope not!” As we got closer, the glow hovered near a home, sparking another guess—“Could it be a tree on fire?” Curiosity got the best of us.
Determined to uncover the mystery, I turned onto Winchester Boulevard, made a quick right onto Royal Oak Drive, and followed the radiant light. What we discovered left us stunned: the biggest and brightest Christmas-lit tree in all of Benbrook, standing proudly at the corner of Royal Oak Drive and Summerset Drive.
Perfectly wrapped in lights that stretched nearly to its highest branches, this tree was a sight to behold. It was mesmerizing—almost magical—glowing so brightly that it felt like the night sky had been set aglow.
While we don’t know who wrapped those lights with such precision, one thing is sure: they deserve a standing ovation.
Since that first discovery, we’ve made return trips to soak in the sheer beauty of this holiday marvel. If you want to experience a Christmas light display that makes your heart happy, this tree is well worth the drive.
