A little spirit, a little teamwork, and a lot of fun are on the schedule next week at the Benbrook Community Center YMCA.
Registration remains open for the YMCA’s Cheer Camp, a four-day summer program designed for children ages 4 to 12. The camp runs June 15-18 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and offers young participants the opportunity to learn cheer basics, build confidence, and make new friends.
Led by Mrs. Holly, campers will be introduced to beginner cheer routines, basic tumbling skills, introductory stunts, and lessons in teamwork and sportsmanship. The week will wrap up with a special performance for family and friends, giving campers a chance to showcase what they’ve learned.
YMCA leaders say the goal is not only to teach cheer skills but also to create a positive environment where children can discover new abilities, develop confidence, and enjoy a memorable summer experience.
Financial assistance is available for qualifying families to help make programs accessible to more children. Additional information can be found at YMCA Financial Assistance Program.
The Benbrook Community Center YMCA is located at 1899 Winscott Road. Families interested in registering are encouraged to do so soon, as registration closes shortly.
Sometimes all it takes is a few days of encouragement, movement, and teamwork to help a child discover just how much they can do.
