Troopers Search for Fleeing Driver Along I-20 Near Winscott Road.

A Thursday afternoon traffic stop on Interstate 20 led to a large law enforcement search near Winscott Road after a driver reportedly fled on foot.

According to CrimeRadar.app, the incident began just before 4 p.m. on the eastbound side of I-20 when a driver ran from a traffic stop. The individual reportedly crossed freeway lanes before heading toward nearby wooded areas and a golf course.

State troopers, assisted by multiple law enforcement agencies, searched the surrounding woods and a nearby creek while a tow truck was called to remove the vehicle involved. A second person remained detained at the scene as the investigation continued.

Authorities have not released additional information about the fleeing individual or the reason for the initial traffic stop.
