In an emergency, every second counts.
The Benbrook Fire Department works tirelessly to deliver the fastest response possible, but sometimes obstacles on our own streets slow them down. Low-hanging branches and overgrown shrubs can block large fire trucks and ambulances, delaying their arrival when help is needed most.

Beyond lost time, these limbs can cause serious damage to emergency vehicles. A damaged truck taken out of service leaves fewer resources available to protect the community. To prevent this, residents are asked to keep trees, shrubs, and vines trimmed at least fourteen feet above streets, sidewalks, and alleys.
This simple act of upkeep helps keep first responders safe and ensures they can reach families and neighbors without delay. It is a small way for each household to support those who stand ready when crises strike.
